MARCH 3,2012 - SAT.
Well thank God all the storms missed us! It was a little chilly today, in the 60's. As long as we were in Tupelo. MS (the birthplace of Elvis) we decided to take the tour of his birthplace & museum. It was interesting, but it seems almost everyone we met claimed to be some shirt-tail relation to him. Then we went to the Tupelo car museum Richard wanted to see. At both places we were given a senior discount! I wonder why?? We then saw a Baskin-Robbins, so we treated ourselves to ice-cream for lunch. The first picture is of Richard's banana split, & he finished the whole thing! We found St.James Catholic Church which had an evening mass & we attended it. Oh, by the way, remember yesterday when we were looking for someplace to get a fish sandwich & couldn't find a restaurant, well we found out today that if we just would have gone about a mile more we would have come to the main street in town (in fact it is called Main Street!) & it had restaurants & fast food places up & down the street, we had to laugh at that. We did a lot of walking today, so after church we stopped at a Walmart for some supplies & came back to the RV & had a light dinner & watched a movie. Yesterday we could only get the weather station on our TV (I guess because of the storms) but tonight we were able to get a station called NEXT which played old movies. Tomorrow morning we plan on getting an early start on the Natchez Parkway to ride the remaining miles (about 250) which will take us to our next campsite which is a state park on the Natchez Parkway.
