MARCH 14 WED. & MARCH 15 THURS., 2012

Yesterday we started the day with a bike ride. Then we drove 47 miles to see another lighthouse in Port St. Joe - Cape San Blas Lighthouse. It was 131 small, winding stairs to the look-out. Again I did not even attempt it, but Richard made it to the top. He said it was a fantastic view (see pictures) When we got back to our RV, we decided to go to the beach to see the sunset. It was very relaxing on the beach in the evening watching the waves come in, and we found some pretty shells washed ashore. We thought the sun would set over the water, but West was the other side of the island.

Today we decided to take a bike ride down to the beach & ride along the shore. Not a good idea!! We were able to ride on the hardened sand, but then we would hit soft sand which we could not ride in. We only went a short way & decided this wasn't going to work, so we rode back to our campsite. Richard was doing some outside cleaning on the RV so I decided to drive down the road & visit some beach shops. Well I started to pull out of our campsite, & I forgot that it was one way in the park & one way out (I was heading the wrong way) , so I started to back up to go the right way & lo and behold someone put a tree right where I was backing up! Yep, I backed into it ! Oh my, I bent our bike carrier which is on the back of my car! There was a guy walking on the road & he said he tried to warn me, but I didn't see him. Needless to say Richard was not to pleased, he said he will have to straighten it on a press when we get home. He put the bikes on the rack to make sure it would still work, thank goodness it will, but the rack is not straight & the back hatch on the car won't open all the way now.Leave it to me!! We decided to spend the afternoon at the beach. It was a beautiful afternoon (after the bummer of a morning). Richard's detector treasurer today was 1 quarter. We came back to the RV and had a cook-out. We are both a little sunburn sore this evening. Tomorrow we leave here for our next campsite on our way to Orlando.
