MARCH 6 - FRI. - MARCH 8 - SUN., 2012

Fri. - We started the day by going to the Don Garlits Museum & Antique Car Collection. It was about 1/2 hr. drive. Don Garlit was a famous drag car racer, his museum was one of the places Richard had on his list to see while we were here in Florida. There was a lot to see - cars & motors, he really enjoyed it, but as for me, I don't know one motor from another. Don Garlit was also involved with the Navy Blue Angel air group. An interesting fact; there was a Navy FA-18 airplane mounted outside the museum (see picture) It was the same airplane that was mounted at the entrance to Cecil Naval Air Station, where our Richy was stationed. It was moved here after Cecil Field was closed in 1999. From there we went back to the flea market we went to last week to pick up the wooden plaque we had made for our Rv (see picture). The weather was getting hot, so we came back to our campsite, (our home away from home) & went to the pool to cool off. We went to Long John Silver's for fish for supper.

SAT. - We went to the beach today. It was a little cooler & very windy. There were signs posted at the beach that there were possible "rip-tides (which are like under currents) and high waves, so swimming was only permitted near the shore line. We set up our chairs far back from the shore line (I wasn't going to take any chances today!) I relaxed & people watched while Richard did his detecting, but the waves were very loud & he had a hard time hearing the "beeps" of the detector - his treasure today - 1 penny! We came "home" early because we wanted to attend the Holy Saturday services at church for 8:00 p.m., which was a beautiful candle lite service.

SUN. - Hope everyone had a very Happy Easter! We enjoyed our day by first calling our grandsons to wish them a Happy Easter, then we went to Orlando. Jack & Jan had invited us to spend the day with them & their daug. & grandkids. It is about an 1- 1/2 hr drive from here to Orlando. The weather was beautiful & the kids did a lot of water skiing, jet skiing & boating. Jan had prepared a delicious meal. It was a fun day.

Just got an e-mail from our grandson Jacob to tell me that it is April -- I didn't notice that I was posting the month as March! Thanks Jake!
