Feb. 26 - 27 - Wed. & Thurs.

Wed. Was a cold, rainy day. It rained ALL day! So we decided to get some chores done. We found a laundromat & did laundry. What fun! But vacation or not, clothes have got to get washed.  At the laundromat we met a man who caught snakes. If a residence or park reported seeing a snake, mostly copperheads, he would be called to catch it. He doesn't kill them, he relocates them to a non-populated area. I had no idea copperhead snakes lived in this area, this park!  But he said with the colder weather they are not out now. They like the sun and the warm weather. He said they are very keen on vibrations, if you make noise while walking in the woods, and use a walking stick and walk heavy, they feel the vibration and will move away. (I don't think we will be taking any walks in the woods in this park!) Then we went shopping for food and supplies. Those chores took most of the day. Being that it was still raining, we took a ride to see where Myrtle  Beach was. The park we are in is in an area called Murrells Inlet.  Myrtle Beach is about half an hour away. We saw that there is a campground there also, but it is very expensive and the beach is not walking distance. We like where we are better.

Thurs. Was sunny but very chilly. Richard took a bike ride down the bike path in the park while I did some house cleaning in the RV. ( you know me, a clean nut)
Later we took a walk to the beach, but it was so cold and windy, we were there only for a short time. We were practically the only ones on the beach. Back at the campsite Richard practiced his chipping (golf) while I relaxed and did some reading. We really like this park, being so close to the beach and decided if we came this way again we would stay here, but only if it was warmer weather so we can enjoy the beach.
