April 12, 2016 ...Tuesday & 13.. Wednesday

We finally made it to the beach!! It was a beautiful, sunny day with a lite ocean breeze, a perfect beach day! The water was a little choppy and yellow caution flags were flying. Luckily we found a close parking spot at Jensen Beach it is about half an hour from our campsite. We have been there previous years. In the afternoon, while sitting on the beach enjoying the waves, I was also watching several kids playing in the water, not far from the shore.I heard one of the kids holler help and I thought to myself that he really should not be goofing around yelling help like that in the water. Then all of a sudden two lifeguards in a four wheeler pulled up right alongside by us and got out running in the water by the kids I was watching! They were able to pull them to shore and everyone on the beach started clapping. The kids looked to be about 11-12 years old. As the lifeguards got back to their 4wheeler, I asked what happened. They said the kids got caught in a rip-tide current and weren't able to swim free!! And I thought they were just goofing around, some lifeguard I would make!!! After that they put up 2 red "no swimming" signs  by where we were. That sure was our excitement for the day. I am just so very glad those two little boys were pulled safe.

Wednesday...we enjoyed another beautiful beach day. No excitement rescue today, thank goodness! We thought we had better take advantage of the beautiful clear day because there are thunder storms in the forcast for the next few days, unfortunately. It was really hot, in fact the sand was so hot Richard hurt his feet walking on it. (I was smart and wore my beach shoes.......just saying!!)There were red flags flying which meant no swimming, because of possible rip-tides. So people were just in the water along the shore area. The water was not real cold either, it was refreshing to walk in.
